Tigershark
I been trying to decide on removing the catalyc concerters and mufflers. i Want to replace with larger diameter Pipe and Some aftermarket exhaust, w/o the C/C'sWould this be a good way to go? or would I end up losing compression? I did this to my 89' 5.0 and I noticed a loss in torque.. sounded great though. does anyone know a place to buy aftermarket performance intakes? midnight rider
Lighten up. We were all newbies once. Replace the cats with highflow units, like a catco. Go with a flowmaster 40 series or 12" glass packs and tips. As for the 3" pipe, you might have some clearence issues. I'd stay around a 2 1/2" or smaller. topless94style
Whatever engine you have, 2.5" is plenty for a wbody. You will probably loose tq be removing your cat, but youll gain some hp. I would go for a highflow cat and some mufflers with 2.5" piping.....err wait i did do that. Tigershark
This is the first W-body vehicle I own, My brother had a Buick regal.. 94' i think... thats as close as i'd come to these vehicles. I don't know much about the engine so I try to get advice from people who obviously have experience . I try google and I look through car sites but as many of you know.. it's hard to find performance parts for this type of car. and that my friends is why I bug yall about all this. I came across this 92' olds Supreme with the 3.4 in it, and thought that with a little modification.. it could whoop some ass. So I been looking around for mods. Thanks for the advice so far, its been helpful.. from how to change plugs to changing the exhaust .. its very handy. Thanks for those with imput.. and to those who don't like being asked questions about mods.. why are you in here in the first place? Is this forum not to exchange Ideas about the W-body? If you don't like to give imput to "newbies" then by all means don't. Don't bother yourself, don't waste your time. Thanks for the advice on the exhaust. By the way that avatar rocks Midnight Rider. sonyman87
I still dont know what vehicle you have but im assuiming its the 3.4dohc since you mentioned something about it. 3.4DOHC = LQ1 lots and lots of things you can do to your motor exasust.. like eplained befor high flow cat and flow 40s with tips arnt to bad sounding. Be sure to cut out your resignator, big restriction there. your gonna wanna do intake work aswell to make use of your new exaust. almost any custum setup will work, Keep your Map sensor and air intake temp sensors and just plug them in the same configureation with a larger tube and be sure to use a K&N air charger. A more popular intake is the ColdZ fenderwall intake(requries battery relocaion) look up Aaron on this board he has one. http://www.fastfwdperformance.com has an computer chip highly recomened with 93 and older computers and they also have polyurothane motor mounts which is a MUST with the 3.4dohc and Underdrive pully for an 8-10hp gain alone. another good site to check out for you would be http://www.60degreev6.com and click on your motor in the menu you can check out my cardomain page to see what i have done to my LQ1 3.4dohc to get it into sub 15.2s Aaron with a 5-speed is hitting 15.2 or better in colorado at 7000feet  he claims correction is like 14.2-13.8 at 97mph

gp90se
real simple, the 3.4 is a top end motor, if u were 2 go with a 2 1/2 mandrel bend exhaust into a highflow cat, magnaflow mufflers, a true CAI with k&n filter, an underdrive pully and the chip, you will be into the low 15s with the car assuming it runs right. And the reason I fucking dont like noobs that dont search is cauz thats the legit 15th time i/others posted it within the last 3 months
digitaloutsider
2.5 should be more than enough for any W-body, even present. Most of the guys in GACGP with modded GTP's don't run over 2.5. Anything else is really just overkill.
