paulo57509
yeah well i replaced, still no light comes on. grr. is there a fuse on that? Probably, but I would think that this light wouldn't have its own fuse and would be fused along with some other lights. Unplug the electrical connector from the lamp housing and probe it with a volt meter. There should be 12 volts there. If not, you need to trace the circuit backwards from there. An electrical schematic will help. If there is 12 volts at the connector, the problem might be with the lamp housing. I would imagine that there is some kind of mercury or "tilt" switch in there that might be bad.
Guest
also, my ends had corroded pretty badly. I had to sand it down real good, and it worked fine after that. Taylor
88Intl
BTW, on my truck I put a crimp-on bullet connector inline with the ground (not hot) side of the hood light. This can be disconnected so as not to drain the battery when leaving the hood open a long time.
