jeremy Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 that IS where you recharge it....the kit will only fit one of the connections.....pretty damn easy to do....good luck... Quote
Givemebreak Posted August 9, 2004 Author Report Posted August 9, 2004 Found it ....Filled it....listened to it all leak out... k... I think i hear hissing coming from the top driverside of the radiator? Make any sense to anyone? thanks! Quote
DiscoStudd Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 Sounds to me like either your condenser has a hole in it or there's a loose fitting connecting one of the lines to the condenser. I'd say it's probably the fitting because I had one work loose on my wife's old Cavalier once. I tightened it up and filled the system and it never leaked again... Quote
Givemebreak Posted August 9, 2004 Author Report Posted August 9, 2004 So...is the condensor easy to replace ....and should i be in good shape after ? and whats the damage $ thanks! Quote
GPdriver1986 Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 The condensor probably isn't that hard to replace. But before you do, you should try this new kind of leak stopper (its not for rubber seals but for metal) http://www.id-usa.com/product.asp?CID=31&PID=105 It's only like 15$ and if the hole isn't that big, it might seal it up. DiscoStudd Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 GM = CondensorI did not know that, or as Lumbergh would say: "Oooooh, yeeaaah, um, I was un-aware of any differences in spelling." FWIW, my line of thinking is more along the lines of building HVAC systems... Quote

maybe2fast Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 Okay, in my experience of 2 almost 3 years working in an auto shop and owning a GM with a condensor that is bad GM's have condensor problems 95% of the time. If you heard refrigerant hissing out Dude stop leak is not going to fix it. check the lines but I would put money on the fact that the condensor is bad. Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 The one question still hasn't been answered... how much is a condenser? I want to eventually get the A/C running in my '95 and I don't know what is wrong with it, except I'm pretty sure it has no charge in it.. Quote

Refrigerant and stopleak pissed right out of that bad boy... wasted a few bucks there....oh well sounds like I should buy New on the condensor then huh? Quote
cryptnix Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 same happened to me ... a guy at autozone pointed to me that there was dye in the A/C ... and warned me of a possible leak ... well I still get pretty damn cold so ... well makes me wonder what happened... well why they did that ... i do have a leak though. i saw it coming through my vents ... Canada Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 Stop leak is a band aid.......a shitty one..........never use it......on anything.......you are asking for much larger problems down the road. Fix it right. Quote
