skiiirt
After getting a SES light the car has started shuddering at idle. I have lost most of my power. It shudders around 1000rpm. Sometimes when i start it has no problems. I can hear a clicking noise when the engine is idling. Sounds like something is rubbing but i cannot find it. Anyone? Guest Gp crazy
the clicking sound is possibly Arcing of a coil or plug wire touching ground. the code 42 is bad ICM or something in that system has gone bad or is about to. i think it's a coil my self they break down after a while. when it's dark out side look under the hood you will see a light show if the wires are bad or if the coil is bad you may see a LIGHTING STORM. Don't touch anything or lean on the sounding areas we want you around to tell us what is wrong! HIGH VOLTAGE + AMP'S KILL. As for the scrapping sound unsure unless it's a 3.4 with bad timing belt ? that is what i have to say jeff b !

midnight rider
I've been bit by coil packs. The don't hurt any worse than any other shock. Just don't be touching the side of the car when it happens.....lol You might have a bad set of wires. At night, take a small squirt bottle, like a windex bottle, fill it with water. Start your car in a dark area, open the hood and mist towars the plug wires and coil packs. if you have any spark leaks, you find them quickly. It will light up under the hood.
