R Dubya Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 Is two 20 minute sessions, holding at 2000 rpm allowing it to reach full temperature enough? I'll be using 5w oil in the first run. The cam is covered in assembly lube, the bearings were also coated. TIA. Quote
SleeperRed90TGp Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 No sense at running at 2k. The only reason for that is to get spray from the crank which we can't get. 1k to 1500 varing the rps up and down for 20 to 30 minutes with a few burst to 2k, then change oil and filter. 5w oil seems a light to me. None detergent oil is best if you can find it. Pre oil and start immediatly. Jud Quote
gp90se Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 Actually, I would do it with a staright 30 at about 2k (gets better lubrication) for 20 minutes, put a magnet on the oilfilter with the turbo not connected. Quote
