Baddflash
Now that I bought back my Lum that was stolen I want to swap in the old 440t4 from the 5-spd as the 3-spds TC lockup doesn't work and I'm hoping to improve the MPG . Both cars are 90's with the 3.1L. Specifically will the axels, shifter and TV cable work(broke the 4-spd cable). Will there be any other issues??? Thanks. Baddflash
Sorry for the confusion, the 4-spd auto came from my lumina that I swapped the 5-spd manual into. Correct. I want to swap a 4-spd auto from a '90 3.1L Lumina into a '90 3.1L Lumina that only has the 3-spd auto. I Just need to know if I can use the axels, tv cable, wiring, shift cable from the 3-spd on the 4-spd. Thanks.

mihela816
axles and tranny wiring are different. I am considering doing the swap to my car, and the axle part #'s are not the same.
Baddflash
Well I think I'm going to scrap the 3-spd to 4-spd swap. I was only going to do it if I could just drop it in without having to buy any parts or figure out how to modify more wiring. "No, no more wires and diagrams please" I think I've had my fill of that for now, I still have the 40-plus wires of the STE lamp monitor to hook up. A3 to C3, B1 to G10.....ummm....BINGO..... If I'm gonna get into all that I'll just make another 5-spd. Plus I got the opportunity to buy a '90 GP 4DR with only 153,000kms but the tranny is apparently gone. So the working 4-spd I have sitting here would make it cost me nothing to get it driving again and they only want $500 for the car which is in really good shape. My cousin really needs a car and thats why I found this one, but I really wouldn't want him to blow up a really good engine, he seems to be good at it. Plus yours truly will be doing most everything so maybe I'll have to sell him the Lumina and take the Gp for myself. Atleast if he takes the Lumina he can be driving today not a week or two down the road when I'd have the time to fix the GP. Although I'm still not too sure about driving a parts car!!! Thanks for the help, guys.
Guest Gp crazy
Is it an STE? or Just an SE? 8) Just curious
Baddflash
If it was an STE there wouldn't be a chance of anyone else getting it, lots of good parts in those.
