ZeroDCX Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 Would these transmissions be able to fit into a W-Body vehicle? http://www.westcoastfiero.com/transmission/transmission.html Also, Whatever happened to those transmissions that DKOV were testing? Quote
rudefyet Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004  If so...can we say 6-speed TGP? Quote
jeremy Posted August 3, 2004 Report Posted August 3, 2004 <--------curious to know if you looked at the prices of those trannies... Quote
ZeroDCX Posted August 4, 2004 Author Report Posted August 4, 2004 I'd save up for one of those if it'll fit my 3.8 Regal ... but can they fit, since they were designed for Fieros? Quote
digitaloutsider Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 This is where I feel that unless you have a car that's say, 1997 or newer and doesn't happen to be a W-body, it's not worth the humongus price tag. Quote

BIGBULS Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 Those are Acura NSX trannies (look at the gear ratios and you'll agree)...................hence the large pricetag. Quote
brian89gp Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 They are too long, you'd have to loose a large piece of the frame rail. Quote
henschman Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 if it bolts to a fiero engine, it bolts to ours. Its another matter entirely whether or not it would fit into a w body. It would be cool, but expensive and unnesescary. The only reason you would need a 6 speed is if you have an engine with a really narrow powerband in the upper rpm range (dohc 4 bangerz ex. s2000, rsx). most of our engines (except maybe lq1) have most of the power down low. example: the older porsches used to come with a 4 speed manual. When everyone started going to 5 speeds, they did too more for marketing than for performance. The 5 speed ones were actually slower. Some of the fastest drag cars are 2 or 3 speeds. Quote
ZeroDCX Posted August 10, 2004 Author Report Posted August 10, 2004 I don't care for the 6-speed, it's only the 5-speed that I'd want to put in my W-Body, a 6-Speed is a waste of time and money. (Although It would be hellafun ). Quote
ZeroDCX Posted August 17, 2004 Author Report Posted August 17, 2004 Oh well, I'll just stick with the L67 Swap and the 4t65-e HD Tranny then ... Then turbo the hell out of it ... Quote
