fierofanatic
Well as my 93 3.1 idles, if you turn the radio off you can hear a light, faint "Poof......poof, poof" noise come from it, its not random, it makes that noise everytime the cylinder with the poofing noise fires. The engine has 108k miles on it, Bad headgaskets letting coolant into the motor? This is a little scary. I've also noticed sometimes when I put the car into reverse after starting it, the engine will shudder then die, but restarted, its fine. Any ideas? C-BAD is right, this poof should get louder as time passes, which means a spark plug was not torqued down correctly, and is slowly coming loose from the plug socket. Locate the noise, and torque the plug down, or you might be buying a helicoil kit pretty soon.. I just did that yesterday, for the second time, and it's not fun. My wrists are still in pain.
