Tigershark
I guess the reason why i found this page was that i'm looking for advise on changing the plugs, I'm having a hard time reaching the plugs between the firewall and the engine. Have any suggestions? I just got the car and I'm trying to get it in shape. its a 92 Cutlass Supreme SL With the DOHC.
White93z34
pull back the weather striping and get a long extention with a swivel on it shoulen't be too bad. its easierst if you pull off the plenum, but thats alot of work.
getragz34
What I did i put 2 extensions together and taped the Spark Plug socket to the extension. You don't want the socket to fall into the hole and not be able to get it out. Also on my car someone already cut the metal out where the weather stripping goes. They actually did a very good job cutting it out nice and round, makes it so much easier. You can't see the cut out after the eather stripping is back on. I know others have parked their cars on a decline so that the motor moves forward more and removed the dog bone so the motor moves forward even more. Food for thought
Tigershark
Alright, its done. It's actually not that bad once you take your ime and check stuff out. I do thank the comment on the tape. You should actually tape the next joint. make sure you won't lose any of the extensions in there either. I was stressing out cause I lost the extension that was taped to the SPlug Socket cause the plug was in the socket tight and therefore held on to the socket. So here for those that haven't done this yet. Take weatherstripping off, tape your extensions together, and when putting the plug back in... don't push the plug into the socket too hard otherwise youll have a hard time pulling all your extensions and socket out in one piece. THankz for the advise. Ill try to come at you with a new problem in a couple of days.
