gmrulz4u Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 What should my battery voltage read with my car turned off? I'm assuming 12 volts, but see a lot of "12.5" volts mentioned across the web. Also, my battery is an Optima Red Top dry cell, does outside air temperature dramatically effect the voltage? Or should it? For example, if it's 80 degrees, should the voltage be higher than if it's 20 degrees?(I know this is true with regular acid batteries) Thanks!! Quote
ctx46 Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 a fully charged battery should put out 12.6v... each cell puts out 2.1v Quote
Guest Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 A battery is considered GOOD as long as it remains anwhere between 11, and higher volts at rest. Most normal batterys are anywhere from 12 to 13 volts at rest. Taylor Quote
