Givemebreak Posted July 31, 2004 Report Posted July 31, 2004 I finally got around to taking some pics of it done in there... My amp came crashing down about a month ago from the cheap A$$ plastic mounting brackets. Well now I had my buddy machine up a better design out of aluminum! That beoch ain't going no where!!!! Before anyone rants about heat issues....I am aware and have not had any issues.......yet The looks outweigh that....and I like it! This pic here show the aluminum blocks my buddy made me to hold that heavy amp TIGHT! Quote
slick Posted July 31, 2004 Report Posted July 31, 2004 I had that same amp you had on your trunk lid. It didn't like the 2 15" subs that I had to well, so it blew them up!! Awesome amp. How does it all sound? Quote

How does it all sound? It sounds actually awesome for the cash! It shakes the hell out of everything in the car....and you can hear me coming from quite a ways down the road! I have the 4ch underneath hooked up to 5.25 Kenwood components in the front and 4 way Kendwood 6x9's in back. Running off a Kenwood preamp tuner. Quote
slick Posted July 31, 2004 Report Posted July 31, 2004 Sounds like your stereo really kicks ass. Quote
Goph Posted July 31, 2004 Report Posted July 31, 2004 You should get it metered so you can tell how hard it really hit. That is the thing i hate about my car, Every thing shakes and i have sound dampening all over the place (2 layers on all of the trunk and 3 on the lid). don't help my rear view mirror fell off 4 times now. That series subs are those? I like how the amp is on the lid and that you have a very clean install like it should be. you defiantly took your time to make sure it looked good. Quote

Monty Hey Monty.... The brand is SPL and here is there website http://www.splusa.net Trunk lid stays up on level ground or forward slant...but not backwards! I plan to readjust the spring tensioners underneath at some point this week when the heat/humidity drops down I was also thinkin of lookin into mounting some of those little piston lifters you see on some trunks and custom mount them. Quote
musthavemuzk Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 thank you for the linkage as for heavy trunk lid help... saw an altima this past weekend that had some crazy heavy trunk helpers. pistons but i forget the details. he said they would hold up 75lbs each and he had 2 of them. he wanted it to be able to lift the shut trunk once he hit the trunk popper. he plans on a directed 2400d on alum mount on trunk lid. which is slightly larger than your amp.
