Trunk Release

It kinda depends on what year the car is. Some cars are prewired for it, and some are not. For example, my 1995 Cutlass was prewired, so all I needed was the button, and the solenoid.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PUTTING THE BUTTON IN!!!!!

You will need the solenoid, and the button, and if your car is not pre-wired, you will need a slut bunch of wire, and a fuse.

First, check to see if your car is pre-wired for it. Just look in the trunk lid for a plug. If you trace the wires going to the trunk light back, you should find a plug stuck into the tubing. There will only be one wire. The way the button works, is it is a hot wire going to the button, and when you push the button, it ground the solenoid causing it to pop. The solenoid has to be touching the metal. You will also need the 2 screws that hold the solenoid onto the striker plate.

Just wire it up, and it should work.

You can use the solenoidand switch from any w-body (there are others that will work, but I recommend trying to find a newer w-body for the solenoid, and any 1988-1994 for the switch. In 1995-1997 most of them used a round button instead of the square one). I also go the trunk lock out switch from a 98 Regency and used it to make a lock for the trunk so that when it is set to lock, the button will not work, and the remote will not work. I put the switch in the trunk so that you will have to use the key to get into it.

I have a picture of it on my webpage somewhere.
