quite possibly buying new car!

1995 Grand Prix SE 2 door 3100.

Red with tan(or is it called brown?) interior.

I put a (refundable) 100 deposit on it for them to hold it until the weekend, which by then I will have had time to take it to a garage and have another pre-safety inspection (it already had one.. sorta). The car was etested just a few weeks ago, so thats all good. :)

I looked it over the best I could in my dress clothes, took it for a test drive with my dad. The 3100 has wicked power compared to my 2.8, and according to the DIC (or whatever you call the newer ones) WAY better MPG!!! Had a nice smooth ride and the brakes stop 100x better than on my car. Interior is very clean and good shape. Tires look like they're new. It has a HUD (MY FIRST EXPERIENCE!! ) A/C works!!! Also the car appeared to be undercoated, and looks awsome underneigth.

Whats wrong with it:

-truck doesn't open

-scrapes on side, minor dent and crack in the cladding (nothing I can't fix). The spoiler needs to be repainted (crappy clearcoat). Its got the gold crosslace wheels which are kinda shitty looking so I will have them polished/paint the gold black and leave chrome edge.

needed for safety (according to a sheet they gave me, not 100% sure how accurate it is, but its close):

-rear wheel hub (I couldn't tell when driving)

-brakes (I'm not sure what, but the ABS light was on..)

-RR Brake line

-ball joint

-drivers mirror is cracked

-driver's power window doesn't work

-mufflers (they were pretty loud but looked visibly okay) (mufflers for safety???????)

-a couple light bulbs

So I am very excited about quite possibly getting this car, as mine is a damn moneypit and won't be safe for winter. Can we say PARTS CAR? :lol2: Going to get it to a mechanic this week and see what all it needs, then I will fix what I can, and get the rest fixed/safetied and its mine!!

Oh, don't worry.. I WILL NOT PAINT THE INTERIOR !!

i think he said about 2 grand candian which is about 1 grand us???

Yes. That is like half the price of what they are in autotrader. After I'm done buying it, fixing it, tax, etc. it should be no more than $3000 CAD (and remember 15% sales tax in Ontario...

The main things on the car are working/in excellent condition, and it drives like a champ. I need to spend nearly $1000 on my old GP if I wanted it running 100%...

The rest of the bad is mostly small cosmetic things that I can fix myself easily and for cheap.

Looks like it was maintained fairly well.. considering there has gotta be stuff done to it that wasn't in the records..

Sounds like a bargain. I'd definitely get it if I were you. It sounds like the "problems" with it are trivial.

The brakes on a 95 are awesome compared to an older W, that's for sure.

Get us some pics soon!!!

I will defineatly get pics as soon as I can.. my digital camera isn't working right (the only bad thing thats happened the last couple weeks). Other than that its been a great month (new job, 3 year anniversary with gf, and hopefully this car). :)

dave i seriously think that's asking a little much for a GP of that year in the condition it's in with mileage that high. I still think you should check around a bit more before you move on that.

I understand your concern. I have looked at lots of cars in the past years and I personally agree with Discostudd.. I think it is a bargain. Canadian prices are higher than US prices, thats just the way it is. Anyways update tomorrow (mom is taking it to garage for pre-safety checkup while I'm at work).
