citheman85 Posted July 25, 2004 Report Share Posted July 25, 2004 okay here is the story. about 4 months ago i bought a 93 gp with 191000 miles on it and the trans was shot. it only had first gear so i bought the car for $50 and i swapped the trans with a rebuilt trans that i bought off of my local boneyard. i have the papers and everything but the trans wont shift i have to put the shifter in the gear that i want. this dosnt bother me but it wont go into first gear and every time i leave the line im being smoked by a ricer .oh yeah and when i dropped the trans pan to change the filter one of the tubes was disconected so i hooked it back up and it didnt make any difference. also i have a what looks like a vacume tube on the top of my trans and i didnt on the old one somone help me please i dont wanna get rid of the car but if i cant fix this damn problen im gonna have to get rid of this car Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

stockgp Posted July 27, 2004 Report Share Posted July 27, 2004 right. you should have a 4t60e. e stands for electronic. the 4t60 is vacuum controlled and the hose on top you are speaking of is probably the tv cable. take it to a gm dealer to verify if you are not sure then go raise hell with the junk yard Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
