SUPERDUTYD Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 i have major memory steer on my 92 z-34 caused by bad strut bearings. i want to replace the whole strut assembly with one from a junkyard car. what year cars can i use as a donor for a strut assembly. maybe a 1999 grand prix or something? obviously the newer the better. DiscoStudd Posted July 23, 2004 Report Posted July 23, 2004 The newest Gen 1 W-Body (1.5 actually) is a 2001 Lumina. The 97-up Grand Prix, Regal, Century and Intrigue and 2000-up Monte and Impala are Gen 2 W-Bodies. Here's the breakdown of W's by generation. If you're gonna go for something newer, then get the strut/knuckle assemblies off a 96-99 Monte or 96-01 Lumina and upgrade to the bigger 11.25" front brakes.
