knock, knock !!!!!ahhhhhhhh

OK here is the the prob, ive had this knocking coming from somewhere under the engine and the weird thing is it starts knocking when the engine gets hot, so i jack up the car get under there and its coming from some where above where you drain the oil, i get a flashlight but there's nothing moving up there, im good with the top of the engine but not underneath, except to change the oil, what could be the cause? ill go buy some stop knocking doubt it will work though. anyway if anyone gots any ideas HELP!!!

A lot, would have to tear the engine apart$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I'll be in pueblo at the end of the month if ya want to meet up.

with a rod knock, your talking either a rebuild, a used engine, or a brand new engine from GM. Drive it till it blows, then find an engine in a yard with relativly low miles and dump it in.

nah just buy my 5-speed Cutty it looks almost just like yours 90KUTTY. i'd even drop it off

oh yeah, I forgot one. Put in some really heavy oil to quiet it down and trade it off or sell it.

Do you have an oil pressure gauge on your dash? If so, does the pressure drop to 0 when you hear that knocking noise?

 

I would just think positive it's your oil pump or oil pump pickup tube (screen) which is probably partially clogged-up which either needs cleaning or replacing both oil pump and oil pump pick up tube (screen).
