Ok, today when i was driving in town my car started acting like it didn't want to start moving when i steeped on the gas. the RPM went up to 1k when i pushed on the gas and then just stayed there for a second then it started to respond to me pushing on the gas. Some time when i started it up today after going in to some places quick it would start up then run down to very low RPMs, i mean like around 50 to 100 from what my gauger was saying.

I'm hoping that the injectors just needed some fuel injector cleaner ran throw them so i put some in when i got gas today but i have had so many problems with this car that my luck it is not something simple as that.

This engine has around 5k miles on it being rebuilt and it is using 1 quart of oil about ever 2500 miles.

just mt 2 cents but i used to have an 88 cavalier and had the same symptoms as you described. Took it to the shop and it ended up being the ignition coil, had that replaced and everything was fine. I know its a totally different car but sounds like the same problem.

Sound more like a coil to me as well. My friend had a 90' Cavalier with the 2.2 and it did the same thing your describing when it blew a coil while we were out one day. The car just generally acted lethargic to throttle input and pretty much chose for itself when it would accelerate. The good news is its an easy fix and you can get three new coils and an ICM from a junkyard for $50 or so.
