info for you who wanna super charge your w-body...

ok last time I was on the bord alot of peaople where trying to figure out a way to use the super charger from the 3800sc on the 3.1 and 3.4 ...

 

well back in febuary I boughte a 91 grand marquis so ive being on the ford forums trying to juice it up but I came acros some nice info.....

 

 

the problem we whur having is their was no kinda intake availible to mount the blower on top but ..I found that if you use to top plate from a thunder bird supercoupes supercharger wich is the exact same eaton M-90 as the gtp only mounted upside down with a port that feads the stock intake and throttle body .......

 

 

I cant finde pictures righte now but basicly it make it possiblle to mount the blower to the front side of the engine ( requires a custom braket) and you can use a TGP iintercoller even

 

this could make puting a blower on a 3.1 or 3.4 alot easier and cheaper than installing a turbo ..

 

 

also if you run the righte boost you wouldnt have to modify the fueal system at all witch would give you extra power without killing your gass mialage

okay but that's a ford engine dude...it's still yet to be done here. Ofcourse anything's possible...When you've successfully done it for a 3.1, 3100, or 3.4 then you'll have my attention.

I was just giving you guys a little info ....

 

letting you know that it doesnt require a custome upper or lower intake to to do it...

 

my 3.1 curenntly needs a new engine block so cant do that .....I'm planning on doing this to my grand marquis with is gonna be interesting my intake faces the oposit way of the HO engine so I gotta engineer every thing...

not neccesarily, considering you can score used TGP parts relatively cheaply and easily.

to do this you just ned to take a cue from the fiero crowd and creat a custom intake manifold, problem is alot of people do not have the tools or facilities required to make it happen.

Man, those CMM machines are the SHIT aren't they? We have 4 of them at work, but w/o credentials you're not even aloud in the same room w/ them. :evil: For all you 04 GP owners that's what we use to make sure the taillights we make are the right size/shape. (1 out of every 24 is checked, so rest assured, they may be ugly, but they fit. :lol: )

yea the engine is in by far the worst pos ford ever too... :lol:

 

they were alright from their into through the early 70's. the boss 302 would move, but it was a hard engine to keep running on the street. too tempermental. they'd roast a chevy 307, run neck and neck with a 302 Camaro, but couldn't hold a candle to a LT-1 350.

 

the later 70's and onwards 302's just sucked. no surprise the Camaro/Firebird won almost every Car and Driver comparo over the decades.

eh my uncle has a 5.0 mustang i would like 2 see anyone on this board touch w/ their w body :D ....of course then again when car hunting i drove a pair of mn-12's w/ the 5.0 & my SHo would eat them alive....so who knows about that engine....ive seen good ones & bad ones...

did i say a w-body will roast a 5.0? NO, i didn't come even close to saying that. however, i DID SAY,
