89grandprix
Ok i got a 89 grand prix with a 2.8L and it is have trouble staying running but only when it heats up. See what is happen when the engine heats up after driven the car for maybe 15 mins it dies out of know where and then comes back to life well i am driven down the road. Then when i come to a stop it idles funny like it gots a cam in it and when i have the AC on it idles ok.Then when i go to take off from a stop the engine cuts out but 1 or 2 secs later comes back to life. Then when i put it in park or neutral and press on the brake it pulls the engine down to the point of dieing and sometimes it dose die but it starts right back up. I just got a new ICM put in it but that didn't help dose anybody else have any ideas of why it is doing this

It sounds like your alternator might be on it's way out. Get that checked at AutoShit or some parts store like that.
THe_DeTAiL3R
Does it run hot? (if so flush the rad and new t-stat) Have you cleaned your fuel system lately (throttlebody, IAC).. maybe run some top end cleaner in it.. just a few suggestions that helped my car out. Get that checked at AutoShit or some parts store like that. alternators ok about a year old, no idiot light I meant, when you come to a stop, and it almost dies, does it seem like power is being tripped. All the idiot lights will come on, because your car is losing power. Check your battery and alternator. My car was doing that same thing, both batt. and alt were dying.
