Green96GTPchick
engine is now running, however, I have a leftover vacum line, that I cannot find a home for. The car runs, no skips, it kind of lags wne u hit the gas, but its running normal. But also, my SES light is on now.
no1kicker
You could try retapping, I did that on an exhaust manifold bolt hole. The tap was like $6.
god910
Which hole is it?
Canada
You could replace the upper intake manifold.....I would try tapping it first. Don't try a helicoil....I've never had good luck with those....they work, but not that well....espessically in alminum.

BurneroftheRice
It is the two end holes on the lower intake, and then two of the three holes on the plenum, where the throttle body arm meets the plenum, are stripped. And the third hole, we (I) snapped the bolt while trying to torque it into place. We have heard that permatex form-a-thread works well. A friend who has a 3.4 has used it before and suggested we try that first. Its cheaper, and if it doen't work then its not that big of a deal. Have any of you guys heard of it before? DaveFromColorado
I've use the permatex stuff before, and it's okay for light torque/lower heat situations, and your manifold is one of the medium - to - higher heat situations. I'd highly recomend using the helicoil, if not used properly, they can be very problematic, but* if you use them correctly, you can have VERY good luck with them, for example, on my turbo Mustang I helicoiled all 10 head bolt holes, and the engine ran fine like that - lost the oil return line from the turbo and blew the bottom end out, but the head gasket was still fine. --DaveFromColorado. lukee1982
I used permatex for mine on the upper intake. I don't know how long that will work though. I went and got my plug wires changed at the stealership because there is a recall on them for the 96 gtp. so they fixed it by retapping it and putting in a larger bolt.
