89Cutlass Posted July 14, 2004 Report Share Posted July 14, 2004 I am having this reallly anoying problem with my car its like it dosnt think its in park and when i turn the key it does nothing, then ill go under the hood and pull on the shifter cable a little and then it will start fine. The other day i poped of the cable from the transmission by mistake and now it wont clip back on so it keeps falling of, i am trying to locate a replacment part but dont no what to look for or what its called and also how hard its going to be to change it any input would help ? 89oldscutlass Posted July 15, 2004 Report Share Posted July 15, 2004 If you messed up the clip thats at the end of the cable then you will most likley have to replace the whole cable to get a new clip. 89Cutlass Posted July 15, 2004 Author Report Share Posted July 15, 2004 You were right it was the netural switch causing it to not start now my only problem is locating a new cable and i am still wondering how hard it will be to change the cable, if anyone knows what that cable is the called the one that the automatic transmission shifter connects the the transmission to shift gears. ?
