GrandPrix34
woohoo just did some maintance on the ICM and coils and WOW! Even though its at idle, the car seems more alive! I can feel it, you know, that feeling when you know "oh yeah this is it!" I was having some ignition problems with the wires so I replaced 2 wires and braided them (read it on Magnecor website) and the other wire which leaked but had strong spark, I just put a cover over the whole length of the wire...ill get soem pics up later. Also, I replaced the ECM with the original one and that also had a bit of an effect on the overal startup. I know that the ECM already on the car was a 3.1L ECM but still compatible with the DOHC. Either way I put back the original ECM with FFP chip. GOD i'm so mofo'king happy right now! Now time to take her back to the track and lay some rubber down!! WOHOO!!! 8)

Yeah, I've been shocked. My friend and I were working on his Delta 88, we'd replaced plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and were having issues starting. We decided to pull a plug and put it in it's wire and see if it was sparking. So in a moment of sheer brilliance, I held the wire with the plug and had my friend turn the motor over. Oh yeah, it sparked. Shocking experience. I remember cursing very loudly (in front of his dad, no less) and throwing the plug down on the motor. I was holding it by the wire, but somehow I still got shocked :?
loominaz34
Those coils arent fun, the worst I've had is a lawnmower while running. For whatever reason I coudnt move my hand and sparks were going from knuckle to ring. My friend was higly amused.

GrandPrix34
ah, nevermind about the victory, car just took a crap again. Seems ignitionwise, it's missfiring at low RPM's so I'm suspecting a coil is going out. Man i can never win with this POS!!!
GP1138
Sell it to me for $500 and buy an Anal Festiva.

Lee
Man It sucks to read about all these problems. I've been getting away with knocking on fake wood for so long.....I get really paranoid. The Regal has only died three times in almost 8 years. Twice for crankshaft sensor, once for alternator. I'm about 4/5th done with standard old age replacements. Fuel filter is all that's left. Still original fuel pump.
