test4echo Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 I realize this is completely non-feasable but, is there a way one could patch his (or her) Air conditioning into the cars AI? Would it make much of a difference between lets say cool Outside air (from front bumber doing 80KM) and having cold air conditioning pumped into the Intake? Has anyone ever tried that? mmm. The benifit would be cold air even at idle. Of course your gas milage would such the big one but thats not the point right? Anyone shed any light on this idea? Has it ever been tried? Thanks, test, Quote
Justin Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 Well the small power gain from the cooler air wouldn't be worth it when you consider the AC pump would be bogging the engine down. Turning it off and letting the compressor freewheel would probably give you more power. Quote
topless94style Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 Sounds like more work than its worth. Quote
sl3196 Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 As much power as the a/c takes when its on I don't see the benefits. Quote
Robby1870 Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 Turbs, now its not a emoticon post:P Quote
dsgrntld187 Posted July 12, 2004 Report Posted July 12, 2004 I doubt it would help much.. I'm going to rig up either a Grand Am Ram Air intake on my Cutty to my "chrome" air intake, or I'm going to buy a Mustang ram air intake that goes below the front airdam and rig that up to the "C"AI. Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted July 12, 2004 Report Posted July 12, 2004 Even if it was 120* outside having your A/C on would still not pump enough cold air to do any good IMO. Plus the drain on the engine of having to run the compressor would likely cancel ANY positive effects. Maybe someone that knows more about CFMs and such could shed some light on this topic, cause I'm sure an engine would require way more air than an A/C could pump out. One word: INTERCOOLER! Thats my $0.02 on an already silly topic. Quote
Canada Posted July 12, 2004 Report Posted July 12, 2004 I think a leafblower would be a better idea. Quote

test4echo Posted July 14, 2004 Author Report Posted July 14, 2004 I think a leafblower would be a better idea. Now theres an idea....hehehe Quote
dsgrntld187 Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 In reality would a leaf blower work? My friend supposedly put one on his tractor, but I don't see it working Quote

Robby1870 Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 I guess I'll add this AGAIN, since no one picks up on the fact this idea is dumb Quote
