test4echo
I realize this is completely non-feasable but, is there a way one could patch his (or her) Air conditioning into the cars AI? Would it make much of a difference between lets say cool Outside air (from front bumber doing 80KM) and having cold air conditioning pumped into the Intake? Has anyone ever tried that? mmm. The benifit would be cold air even at idle. Of course your gas milage would such the big one but thats not the point right? Anyone shed any light on this idea? Has it ever been tried? Thanks, test,
Justin
Well the small power gain from the cooler air wouldn't be worth it when you consider the AC pump would be bogging the engine down. Turning it off and letting the compressor freewheel would probably give you more power.
topless94style
Sounds like more work than its worth.
sl3196
As much power as the a/c takes when its on I don't see the benefits.

dsgrntld187
I doubt it would help much.. I'm going to rig up either a Grand Am Ram Air intake on my Cutty to my "chrome" air intake, or I'm going to buy a Mustang ram air intake that goes below the front airdam and rig that up to the "C"AI. THe_DeTAiL3R
Even if it was 120* outside having your A/C on would still not pump enough cold air to do any good IMO. Plus the drain on the engine of having to run the compressor would likely cancel ANY positive effects. Maybe someone that knows more about CFMs and such could shed some light on this topic, cause I'm sure an engine would require way more air than an A/C could pump out. One word: INTERCOOLER! Thats my $0.02 on an already silly topic.
Canada
I think a leafblower would be a better idea.
