LukeZ34 Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 I picked up some 55 Watt bulbs for the stock fog lights on the TGP tonight. Got some pictures to display the difference. 27 Watt bulbs 55 Watt on the left, 27 Watt on the right Both 55 Watt bulbs Haven't taken it for a drive yet, but they are a little brighter. Quote
supreme_style21 Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Definate difference! You'll notice it on the road for sure Quote
GutlessSupreme Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Damn.. I really wish my new ones were fog pattern.. humm. isn't 55 watt the stock rating anyway? Quote
runt Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 Where they the H3 bulb? I like the extra brightness... Quote
ismellrealbad Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 55 is norm for headlight...fogs are much lower though Quote
Brian P Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 actually the 885BP bulbs for Cutlass foglights are already 50 watts. At least the ones from Sylvania. Stock GP should fit these with no problem. Which bulbs did you use for those GP's ? Quote
LukeZ34 Posted July 9, 2004 Author Report Posted July 9, 2004 I used 885's The stock 881 bulbs are 27 watts. Quote
Brian P Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 cool then. So either my previous owner upgraded to 885's or thats just what the Cutlass takes. Now I just need a white garage door to aim them nicely... Quote
Speckkial Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 I think 885's are what the cutlass takes. I just bought my car and I had to replace the foglight bulbs and they were 885's. Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 The TGP may have had 27W bulbs because it has plastic foglight housings. I know the Cutlass Supremes (all years) had metal & glass housings. My truck has plastic foglights and it too has 27W bulbs. Quote
LukeZ34 Posted July 9, 2004 Author Report Posted July 9, 2004 I guess if I melt mine, then we'll know why they came with 27 Watt bulbs then! Quote
Heza Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 kinda on subject, but a little off...does anyone know where i can get the inverted torx bit to aim my miniquads on my car? my miniquads are way off aim and see that its a torx bit, but inverted. Quote
phantomshado Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 a regular six sided socket will fit, I think a 7 or 8 mm. Not sure on the size, but it grabs just fine. Quote

Heza Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 4.5 mm sounds a little better...that doesnt sound regular. dont think ive seen one that small. Quote
GutlessSupreme Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 I know I've got a few of them laying around, so they do exist Quote
LukeZ34 Posted July 12, 2004 Author Report Posted July 12, 2004 I took a road trip this weekend, and the lights were a BIG improvement. The lenses never got too hot either, so I would say this was a worthwhile upgrade. Now I just need to figure out how to wire the foglights to stay on while the brights are on, anyone know? Quote
bigbill23se Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 it can problably get inverted torx bits from sears or home depot or somewhere like that Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 Now I just need to figure out how to wire the foglights to stay on while the brights are on, anyone know? Cut the LT GRN wire going to the foglight relay. Ground the side going to the relay and tape up the other side. Quote

Cut the LT GRN wire going to the foglight relay. Ground the side going to the relay and tape up the other side. Would this be possible even on my '96 cutty? Quote
