I was just curious as to what the differences are with the DIC's. Ive got 2 questions 1)Whats the difference between 88-93 GP DIC in terms of features (maintenance, fuel economy, date, etc), vs 94-96? 2)Can a 88-93 GP DIC be put in a different GM car (this would be custom)and would it have to be a car that has a w-body engine?

That sucks, I like how RossGT put both DIC's in so he would have all of the features. But I still want to know if the DIC can be put in a different GM car other than a W?

Not every feature of the older DIC works in my car becuase the cumputer input is different. I wanted to older one in so that I get the color screen, compass, calender and service reminders. Those are all the things that the newer DIC doesn't offer. On the old one, the range and fuel economy doesnt work right, everything else does. I have the newer DIC for all the trip stuff like fuel used, econ, etc. Ive heard of people putting the older DIC into other w-bodies, but not other types of cars. It would be hell to wire and I doubt all the fuel stuff would work.

Ya but lets say I had a cavalier Z24 with the 3.1, basicly its the same engine as the GP and it does have the same sensors. So if all the wiring was made it might work, isn't that true?
