Steering Issue?

Recommended Posts

Alright, my subframe has been popping and groaning for some time now. I was making a left turn today, and my steering wheel/column/rack made a loud pop, and my steering is now reversed, somewhat. Whereas I used to have to cock the wheel to the right to go straight, it's now to the left. My car pulls to the right, unless I accellerate, then it pulls to the left. Today I was able to steer my car WITHOUT THE WHEEL, by letting it drift to the right, then accellerating to make it pull to the left.

Does anybody have any experience, or know what might have popped to make this happen? Any advice would be appreciated.

I think you should take it to a garage... doesn't sound safe to drive!

I drove it all day and all night tonight.. safe enough so far! Just a little bit more noise - i think the subframe shifted!

i'd replace subframe bolts :?

i'd go with that as well, i think they have to be torqued to something like 1024 ft/lbs
