MommyTaz022200 Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 Ok, so I was checking out the bonnevilleclub.com site about my boyfriend's car and I started to read this posting about scanning engine codes. There is a link to download software for you to hook up your computer to your car and then run this program to get a bunch of info on the car. I'm just confused how this all works cause the posting says you got to hook up some kind of wiring to the car, and there's software to download for different computers (on the cars, not the pc). Can someone help me understand this? Here's the links: http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16073 http://www.efilive.com/downloads/index.html Quote
RareGMFan Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 I believe that's for the OBD II equipped cars. They get a lot more extensive in diagnosing SES lights/engine codes. You can basically hook up a scanner tool (and even a lap top) to pull the codes with, and even to screw around the settings/tune the performance. I've never seen this in action, so I really don't know much more about them. Quote
