89Cutlass Posted December 11, 2002 Report Posted December 11, 2002 I have an 89 Cutlass supreme 2.8L i installed an temp gauge and hooked it up under the thermostate. What should i do with the old temp sensor its just connected and hanging there now ?? i get code 15 now thats a low temp code.. ? Quote
msvestka Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 Hook the sensor back up!!! Your ECM needs that sensor to adjust A/F ratio, starting enrichment, spark advance, etc...... If memory serves me right, there are two coolant sensors on the car, one that feeds info to the ECM (this is the one your disconnected) and another that feeds the coolant gauge or light. It's ok to disconnect that one that feeds the light/gauge, but keep the one that feeds the ECM connected. Michael Quote
