GPdriver1986
I'm still looking to buy a sub and an amp , but the prices at futureshop are too high, so i went on ebay and i found some good deals on amps. I found some simple MTX mono amps, I don't need anything that good, just something to add a little BOOM in the car. I found this for amps: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7906365554&category=38638 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18797&item=5706629665&rd=1 http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10027465&catid=11031&logon=&langid=EN&dept=9&WLBS=fsweb13This is the sub i want for at least something similar in price (NOT SONY) http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&dept=9&WLBS=fsweb7&sku_id=0665000FS10027462&catid=&newdeptid=9 What amp would work really well on this sub? I'm just gonna buy the sub at futureshop because its decently priced, The last amp is discontinued and they don't have it in stock, but if i find it on ebay i'll buy it. This is going to be connected to a Kenwood MP425, i like this deck alot it because it has cool features and it sounds nice. I'm also buying this deck on ebay because of the price difference 200$ ebay vs 219$ + 15% tax at the store.

GPdriver1986
it sounds good but thats american dollars, I want to put together my own system, I already found good prices on ebay and I can buy most of it in Ontario (on ebay). BTW i'm gonna be making my own box.
Bake82
With that sub, look for an amp that puts out 200watts RMS @ 4 ohms. Whether it's a 1 channel mono or a 2 channel that bridges to that. Good luck!
GPdriver1986
what if i get a better sub, i found something like this: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=39773&item=5706780639&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW This sub looks better then that crap that I put up last time and a better price too. THe_DeTAiL3R
I was at Futureshop one time and they had a small MTX amp (quite possibly the one you got listed) and it was driving 2x10" Pioneer subs. It drove them pretty damn good I might add. For a single sub, I think it would be fine. And I have to agree the sub you just listed looks alot better. If you are gonna have only one 10" I'd do it in a ported box to get as much volume as possible. Also check out the Rockford Fosgate Punch series subs. weisinator
If you just want "a little bit of boom", get a single "entry level" 8 inch sub and a 100w amplifier. If you port it, bass will come. ™
THe_DeTAiL3R
bla ... entry level 8" sub woun't put out crap. Having a good 10 or 12" is a good way to go.. at least you DO have the extra power avaliable if you want to crank it up. Cheap 8" might be alright in a Ford Ranger.. but not in a W. Check is probably more than you are thinking you want.. wish I had some money I'd buy it!!! Then I'd have 3 of those subs!!! http://www.w-body.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17703
GPdriver1986
so if i buy this amp: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7906365554&category=38638 and connect it to that other MTX sub :http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=39773&item=5706780639&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW I should be fine right? GPdriver1986
The amp has this rating for power 155 watts x 1 at 4 ohms 310 watts x 1 at 2 ohms and The sub is 500W max its 4 ohms and the recommended amp rating is 20 - 250 Watts. Would this work out ok?
Garrett8
i have a single rockford punch 12" rated at 400 watts max i bought a ghetto walmart 300 watt amp and it hits really good, i might be buying 2 superblue 15s and a depthcharge 600 watt amp yeah bass baby bass

Would this work out ok? IT would work ok, but the RMS of that sub is 250, You'll only be giving it 155. I'd say look for a more powerful amp. Something that'll do 250-300 RMS @ 4 ohms. Thats in my opion tho!
