Engine Questions

Ok guys, I got some questions about engines..

Is the 3400 a rebored 3100?

Whats the difference between the 2000+ 3100 and the 94-99 3100?

Is the 3500 a 60 degree v6 and if so was it based off another 60?

And finally:

Will a 3.1L MPFI drop right into a Fiero with a 2.8L?

Thanks guys

Spencer

1. Yes the 3400 has a bigger bore, but IIRC the block is slightly different because of the bigger bore.

2. The 2000+ 3100's got the 3400 heads which flow more air.

3. Yes, but I think it's an all new block.

4. Yes it should

1. Yes, that is why alot of guys do the 3400 swap from their 3100s.

2. Gains in HP, 2000+ is like 170 and 94-99 is 160HP.

3. Not sure man, I don't know enuf about it engine. :?

4. Hell if a 3.4 can I'm sure a 3.1 can. :)

Can any of you show me a website that gives info about a 3400 swap? I'm heading to the J/Y tomorrow (mostly for a new hood and HUD, rust has gone through the whole front of it now), and maybe I can check about getting a 3400. Thanks
