supreme_style21
I thought there was a vital support bar just behind our decks? I know there is pretty much NO room behind my Pioneer deck w/o doing some cutting and modifications.
Guest TurboSedan
i have a 'GM fit' 1.5 DIN Pioneer DEH-P77 in my Cutlass, and it has just enough room to fit. i haven't trimmed any plastic behind the stereo but i'd have to cut some out if i wanted it to go any farther back. mine sticks out about 1/2": http://www.turbosedan.com/DSC01173.JPG

Baddflash
Crutchfield has a flushmount kit for 83+ GM. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-d90PfuqOSxy/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=11&g=112200&I=003GMK222&o=p&a=1&cc=01&avf=Y&search= That's for those W-Body freaks that like to use old 2-knob head units in their cars - Justin Actually the last kit I bought for my car came like that. You have to cut that part out. They do it so the one kit works for almost any GM.
godofthunder
there are some companys that also rewire old decks. They custom wire all the buttons on a clasic radio faceplate to connect to a modern deck. As long as you knew some good tech/elec knowledge, it prob wouldnt be to hard to do. jon
