cryptnix
I've got the niche to redo my exaust with new cat, new piping, and y'ing it off and going with a dual setup ... I was currious if I got a high flow cat, and magnaflow's straight through muffler if it'll hurt my engine do to the fact of the high flow and straight through mufflers? i know that if i have the 3800 S/C in that it shouldn't ... cause that thing will love me if it were wide open ... but i was currious if being able to have a wide open exaust setup if it'll kill me with power with my 3100... I know I've asked this before but... the time has come to finalize it ... funny thing is i met up with this guy who turbo'd his 3400 grand am and he's pushing almost 300 hp and he's making 13.5 sec passes in the quarter... topless94style
It shouldnt hurt your performance at all, so long as you keep the piping diameter reasonable. I wouldnt consider going over 2.5", that might even be too big for the power the 3100 makes.
Nick1234
hey, im in the final stages of completing my dual set up on a 93 euro 4 door. I got all new pipes and a universal cat from walker exhaust, which is what advance auto has, and im running only a cat and the two universal magnaflow mufflers. I got the smallest mufflers, the BODY is a total of 11 inches long, so they are pretty small. Ill let you know how it sounds when i am all finished. I don't understand how people can run like 2 glasspacks and the 2 mufflers. Way too quiet. Granted its not mandrel bent, exhaust is much more open, andyou wouln't even notice a difference. I will keep you updated. nick
