test4echo
Now that I have this really expensive Snap-on scanner to play with all summer Its an MTG2501, the whole kit. Where can I get the optimal values for each sensor on my 92 Z34 so I can compare actual values and optimal? I don't have a shop manual, but i am prepared to buy one if i have to. All i have is that crappy haynes manual. thanks, test
Stevo
I'm not sure what the GM guys use to scan codes with but I have seen some scanners not grab all codes on a system or even be able to pull codes stored over a long time. I'd rather the scanner the dealer has. I can only guess it's only available through them with their software for GM cars. The snap on one is not as specific, Jack of all trades and master of none type.

test4echo
You guys seem not to like this model. Its made by Snap -On. Any particular reason? I have found it to be quite useful so far. The live graphics mode kicks ass. I didn't know this, but the live graphics mode DOES display not only real time data but a history of sensor operation along with the optimal or Normal values. I don't care, I don't have to pay a dime to use it this summer. I take what I can get. Your right, this model is just over 3K. I've already pinned down and found a vaccum leak using it. One of my MAP vaccums was lying against my EGR tube and ended up melting it closed. Everytime the tube got hot enough, it would re-melt the vaccum line. Still have a few other issues to take of though. Car still isn't 100%. test,
