loominaz34
Hey all, I looked all over and I cant figure out what the purpose of a crossover pipe in a turbo application is. :x Also, assuming I have a turbo for my LQ1 how much approxmately would materials cost for the project? An itemized list would be nice. thanks.

Guest Anonymous
Hey all, I looked all over and I cant figure out what the purpose of a crossover pipe in a turbo application is. :x The x-over gets the exhaust to the turbo. For your 2nd question, do a search.
Guest TurboSedan
it probably wouldn't be a good idea to have a turbo fed exhaust gas from only one cylinder bank hence the need for a crossover pipe. V engines need a crossover pipe so that exhaust gas from both banks gets routed to the turbocharger, which would be mounted somewhere in the middle of the crossover pipe. here's my TGP crossover:
loominaz34
the only thing i found that was called a crossover in my ahlf hour or so search of the internet was an X shaped piece of pipe for improver sound quality through the exhaust. And to turby: The reason for asking about the list was to get approxmiate prices for the various items required, I searched and found a list. BTW your signature confused the hell out of me at first. Guest TurboSedan
I wanted a list of what parts would cost. eg X-over $--- tubing $--- and so on. almost impossible to give even an estimate of what it could cost. at least with an LQ1 you can use a front exhaust manifold on the rear, but you'll need to have about everything else custom made. hopefully you can do the work yourself or know people that can do it. i think brian89gp, RedZMonte, and timg are the only ones here that have a custom turbo 3.4 DOHC. good luck
