TeeJay3800
Hey guys, long time no talk. I know this is something I should search for, but I'm on dial-up and on someone else's PC (very limited time). I just need to know what you think about replacing my rear shocks. I am thinking about going with Monroe Sensa-Tracs. I know KYB makes some good shit, but I don't want to spend an arm and a leg. Please give suggestions for good shocks at a good price. I also need to know how hard a job this will be. I'll be doing it with the gf's dad and need to know any tips or any other info you can give. Thanks. SmoothSteve3
Hell man, go with the KYB GR-2's.......they are frickin AWESOME, and VERY affordable. Check out tirerack.com or similar sites. I got my two rear struts for less than 100 bucks shipped.....maybe even less.....I've forgotten.... SmoothSteve

Yeah the Sensa-Tracs were $55 each at Kragen. $100 EACH for the GR2's?? Damn, I really want those. I'll have to go with the Monroe's if I can't get the KYB's at a similar price. Any body have any info on how hard they are to replace or any hints?
god910
Not to bad at all, I only paid $65 for my GR2's from Adv. auto. Had to order them, took 2 days I think, but no shipping, and a good enough price for me. Made a world of difference. Keep in mind when changing them to relieve stress on the bolts by moving the car up and down. I tried moving the suspension, and it kept it bound up. Moved the car up/down, and it freed them up. Guest TurboSedan
i have KYB GR2 rear struts on my Cutlass and i think they are great! still doing great after 60,000 miles of use. TireRack.com has them for $48/each - that's where i got mine.

Intimidatorz34
Well I have the monroes on the rear. Only about 2 years old, and 5-10k miles on them. I heard that if you let the car sit for too long they will start to break down. Anyways, I let the car sit for a couple months, then got back to driving it and one of the struts blew. So I am not sure if it was a shitty strut or if it was from sitting too long. Needless to say I am putting KYBs on the rear to match the fronts. Just my 2 cents. TeeJay3800
Well guys I orderd the GR2's from NAPA for $64 each. They should be in by Monday afternoon. I'm anxious to get them on to see the handling difference. I'm sure I'll notice a lot since the ones installed now are completely shot (and make TONS of noise). Should I buy the mounting kit or whatever they call it too? I heard some of the bolts, etc. may not be reuseable.....
