Cornerdealy Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 I'm gonna paint my intake plenum and wanted to know if there is anything I have to do to remove the it besides just unbolting it? Quote
scorpion_x9 Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 If you have the 3100 then this post applies, if not, disregard this post. I did the same thing. I had to remove the coil pack, throttle linkages, and a few vacuum lines. The upper intake manifold does not carry any coolant so you don't have to worry about that. You can leave the TB on, saves some trouble, but I took mine off to paint it easier. There's not that much to it, I was bored one day and decided to paint my upper intake manifold. Check out mine here if you'd like: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/205441/2 Quote
Cornerdealy Posted June 16, 2004 Author Report Posted June 16, 2004 thanks man, that's all i needed to know. Yeah I have the 3100 and I plan to make mine look just like yours. Quote
Heza Posted June 16, 2004 Report Posted June 16, 2004 check on my page: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/505596/10 it shows me tearing down my gf's 3100. you need to unbolt the EGR tube from the rear manifold or unbolt the EGR itself. the EGR gaskets are $5 from GM dealer. taking the EGR off is a lot easier, trust me.
