Cornerdealy
Ok, I'd like to replace as much stuff on my 3100 as possible. Right now I have changed the spark plugs, and plug wires, I plan on flushing the coolant and changing the oil as well as replacing the pcv valve. What would be some other common replacements that can be done to ensure that everything is running in tip-top shape?
THe_DeTAiL3R
O2 sensor Clean the throttlebody/ IAC sensor Change tranny fluid/filter if needed Other than that if you are wanting to work on engines maybe buy something with some more aftermarket like with a 4banger or V8 (if you are bored that is). Cornerdealy
yeah well if i had the money i would have a RWD v8, but for now i'll have to work with what i got. I do plan on picking up a restoration project sometime in the near future. I really just have an itch to start learning and working on engines. Just an idea.. take apart the valve cover, plenum, etc.. paint them to make it look nice. Also what about getting roller rockers for your 3100 while you are at it? DaveFromColorado
if you're lookin' at changing things, don't forget your fuel filter, also, if you're really lookin' to spend a lot of time, a couple quarts of brake fluid, and flush your whole brake system, it makes ALL the difference in the world. as for engine projects, find a busted lawnmower and see if you can't figure out what's wrong with the motor... --Dave. Brian P
The best way to check off that 3100 is to install an L67 thru L67swap.com Ok seriously... you got the bases covered. If you want a challenge, why not replace the crank position sensor while it's still somewhat strong enough to be removed..
