GrandPrixGTP95 Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Hey guys, I'm looking for a clutch that will support some power for a swap i'm doing, and was wondering if this clutch would work in the Getrag 282. I've been told it would work alright, but do the sizes match up? This is my first Getrag-ed w-body, so i'm still trying to figure things out here...so any help here would be appreciated. Quote
gp90se Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 well, what kinda power are you talkin, I think your standard getrag with a good clutch can hold 300 horse, but if your thinkin turbo LQ1 or L67, u might need 2 have the getrag built to hold up. -Jeff Quote
GrandPrixGTP95 Posted May 31, 2004 Author Report Posted May 31, 2004 What size is the clutch in a 282? BTW, I never included the original link... http://www.westcoastfiero.com/clutch/cindered_iron_clutch.html Quote
GrandPrixGTP95 Posted June 1, 2004 Author Report Posted June 1, 2004 I'm assuming the SPEC clutches go in stages to represent the power each can hold? How about a stage 4 clutch? how would that do? I'm looking to have about 350hp and 400 ft-lb....in the next 2 months. So i'm looking quickly to find something that could at least hold the power for a while Quote
GrandPrixGTP95 Posted June 1, 2004 Author Report Posted June 1, 2004 yea i am working on the 282's reliability issues with high hp... Quote
