Ok guys, I swapped out the auto for the 5 speed in my TGP, but I figured my problem relates to more then just the TGP owners. Well got the new slave cylinder in and everything, but now the car will not catch the gears in the 282, which was tested before we bought it to make sure it worked. This is with the car off, and the car has never been started with the 5 speed in it. What could be the problem?!

sounds like you need to bleed the air out of the slave/master cylinders and the hydraulic line. how does the clutch pedal feel? when you say you can't catch gears - what exactly does that mean? how does the shifter feel? can you move the shifter from gear to gear?

hmmm i really don't know! what car did your shifter cables come from?

can you reach down and manually shift the transmission with your hands on the shifter levers? (on the trans itself)

Remember the top part of the bracket that holds the shifter cables to the tranny was missing. Did you make a bracket to hold the shifter cables in place like we talked about?? John bolted half of the bracket to the tranny, but the other half was missing and I mentioned to one of you guys that it was missing. That could be your problem

I was wondering the same thing. Hey, whadaya know, some turbo guys helped out after all. :D

wasnt saying that they COULDENT help, it was just the fact that it was a broader topic then just TGP related. BUt hey, what ever works!

Mine was missing too, LOL!!! You can get them off of beretta's and probably corsica's and early '90's cavi's. It's the thin metel one not cast alum one.
