Robby1870
how hot is "running hot" The first fan comes on at 220* and the 2nd at 227*
gmrulz4u
Your 2nd fan will almost NEVER have to come on...trust me...the temp has to be over 230 degrees before that happens...your 1st fan will almost ALWAYS do it's job well enough that the 2nd one won't have to turn on... My passenger-side one never came on either...only after I installed dual fan control switches did I find out that it actually worked! syknesss
well the temp guage went all the way up and the light came on....that is while i was sitting still once i got on the highway it dropped and it usually stayts around 3/4 the way up
Robby1870
it may be the T-stat is stuck open...
cutlassdude96
if you want to check to see if the second fan does work turn the ac on max and turn the fan up on high
THe_DeTAiL3R
Yes, check your t-stat and maybe flush your rad. My car ran really hot before.. and its an '88 which only has ONE fan. On my car the fan doesn't come on until its really hot (like sitting in traffic for a long time and the guage gets to 2/3rds). My engine ran really hot before then I changed the t-stat and flushed the rad really good and it ran much cooler.
zachismisit
whatever is wrong, i woudl strongly suggesting making sure that second fan does work. Mine didn't work a little over a year ago, I didn't know until the little "hot" light lit up
