kcac Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 Car is a 1995 Cutlass Supreme 3.4 dohc with the Electronic Climate Control System. Symptom is climate control unit is not sending a signal to the heater core door motors, so they remain in the "no heat" position. Replaced the controller with one from a boneyard but the problem remains. Neither controller showed any error codes Exterior and interior temp sensors check out OK. Anyone been through this before or have any suggestions on how to diagnose/fix the problem? Quote
DiscoStudd Posted May 22, 2004 Report Posted May 22, 2004 It could be that the motor that moves the damper between hot and cold is shot. That might be one of those deals where you have to get a FSM to diagnose the problem. Maybe try hitting up the library to see if you can find any info in the Jacobs or Helms manuals. Just my 2 cents worth... Quote
kcac Posted May 22, 2004 Author Report Posted May 22, 2004 Thanks DiscoStudd I forgot to include that a new motor didn't help, either. I think you had mentioned re-soldering the pins on the main IC chip of the controller. That's one thing I have not tried yet. Quote
