whiteSE
My front valve cover appears to be leaking some oil so I am going to change the gasket , easy but... there is a pipe either related to the cooling or the A/C that runs accross the valve cover and it is in the way. Does it remove easily or is there a procedure to remove it?? MY tech manual doesn't mention it at all. Thanks for any help. Phil.
Guest TurboSedan
yup you need to remove it. it isn't hard to remove, just unbolt it from the top of the water pump, undo the clip for the spark plug wires, and disconnect it from the throttle body. you will need to bleed the air from your cooling system after you are all done. Slade901
When I replaced the valve cover gasket on mine vehicle 1990 Cutlass 3.1L V6, I just removed the front dog bone and its bracket. Removed the two small bolts on the left side of front dog bone bracket. http://members.fortunecity.com/slade901/automobile/1990Cutlass3.1LV6_ValveCoverGasketReplacement.jpg
