dsgrntld187 Posted May 15, 2004 Report Posted May 15, 2004 Hey guys, My mom had a 1994 Cutlass Supreme SL sedan and had a crapload of trouble with the tranny. On Monday, I'm buying a 1994 Cutlass Supreme SL sedan with 117,000 miles on it, and I'm wondering if any of you have had a lot of trouble with your transmissions. Thanks in advanced -Spencer Quote
93CutlassSupreme Posted May 15, 2004 Report Posted May 15, 2004 some of us do and some of us don't if the car looks abused than it probably has been i've got 90000 on my car and the trans shifts nice and smooth, doesn't slip or nothing, some other members have far more miles than i do on their trannies and they're fine, and some other members have shitloads of trans problems Quote
dsgrntld187 Posted May 15, 2004 Author Report Posted May 15, 2004 The one I'm getting is in great shape. Looks almost exactly like the one in your sig. Quote
Redfox340 Posted May 15, 2004 Report Posted May 15, 2004 Never had a issue since I always watched the fluid level and changed it a on a regular basis. On my Cutlass DOHC, before I sold it, had 175K miles on the original tranny. - Erik Quote
93CutlassSupreme Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 if the fluid's tan, brown, or smells burnt i'd drop the pan, slap in a new filter, and refill the trans Quote
Brian P Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 Mothers always fuck these transmissions up. Yours did, mines did, I'm sure others too...my mom killed it because noone ever checked the fluid level, driven it with VERY low fluid and burned 2nd gear. Quote
