98 Z34 with the 16x6.5? 5-spoke wheels. What is the wheel backspacing?

I'm wanting to go to a MUCH wider than 225 series tire. Perhaps as wide as 255's on a 17" wheel. I would definitely need to change to a wheel with less backspacing for sure. Please post only what you know, not a guesstimate, I can do that myself.

Your OEM wheels are

Bolt pattern: 5x115

Offset/backspacing: 38mm

Dementions: 16x6.5"

Stock Tire size: 225/60/16

there are guys on the Mymonte.com that have 255's on their car.. bit i am sure they have alot of sidewall buldge and crowning on the tire.. which gives it an uneven wear. I would say on a 6.5" wide wheel, 235's would be a good choice but 245 should also work well.. check out this site to find a good combo of tire to keep a simmilar diameter of tire as stock (prevents speedo from being throwen off) My recomendation would be

245/55/16 if you go other then stock. If you go a 17" wheel you can run it fine.. I would recomend

Bolt pattern: 5x115

Dementions: 17x8"

Offset/Backspacing: 35mm

Tire Size: 235/40/17 (if your lowered) 245/50/17 (not lowered) or 255/45/17 (not lowered.. wider and lower profile then previous)

I have Konig Tantrum 17x8" with a 235/40ZR17's on my car.. they are VERY WIDE and VERY LOW profile.. with the 35mm offset you should not rub.
