Lumina3.1
I have a 93 Lumina Euro 3.1L. Would it be possible to put a 3.4L DOHC head and intake on my 3.1L block? If so, what kind of gain in performance would I see? Thanks in advance Matt
90lum31v6euro
imo, u would have to plug up the pasages where the pushrods were, i could see it being a massive oil leak disaster, but ive never done it so if any one wants to call my bluff please go ahead
mfewtrail
It's cheaper to just buy a whole TDC/DOHC motor...I'll leave it at that.

Lumina3.1
I'm new to this GM stuff, so pardon my ignorance. So, would my current tranny bolt up to the 3.4? What else besides the 3.4 engien would I need for this swap? If any one has a 3.4L they want to sell, let me know
Vegeta
I may have a complete engine for sale if you are serious. Its out of a cutlass that I paid half on and im sure my friend doesnt really want that engine. Ive also got the trans. You will want the 4T60-E to mate with it since its what the computer will look for.
Lumina3.1
I believe my tranny is the 4T60-E.
digitaloutsider
4T60e's started in 1995 on Luminas.. You have a 4T60
Vegeta
93 3.1 had the 4T60-E. The FDR is 3.43 for the DOHC and 3.33 for the 3.1 w body. You can use parts off both though to make it a 3.73, which is good for performance. With a higher stall, its pretty much the best setup for the auto out there that I am aware of. Anyway, id throw in the trans with the engine if my friend wants to sell the engine.

conley3.1
Yeah, I'm almost positively sure that the 93s had 4T60Es. A DOHC 3.1 would be interesting though.
