DaveFromColorado Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 you should be able to get a compression tester for fairly cheap from any parts store, it'd be a good idea, but based on the symptoms you're describing, I'm leanin' more towards a bad coil, or plug, or wire, or ICM, something that's causing you to lose spark. You can figure out which cylinder it is by pulling each plug wire one at a time and recording the change in engine idle/sound/vibration, if it doesn't change, it's most likely that cylinder. --Dave Quote
90lum31v6euro Posted May 10, 2004 Author Report Posted May 10, 2004 ok, updated info mymechanic thinks it might be my fuel pressure regulator... just a thought i want my car back to normal..... Quote
DaveFromColorado Posted May 10, 2004 Report Posted May 10, 2004 normally* when the regulators go out they just don't hold any pressure, causing your injectors to work overtime, and usually hurting them. tell your mechanic to do a cylinder balance test, and that'd define which one/ones are going bad on you. --Dave.
