Brian P Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 The person who bought my Pioneer 1.5 Din radio has a '95 Regal with the 2-din opening. Has anyone mounted anything or seen anyone mount this radio into the bigger opening? It looks like it'll fit besides having a small gap at either end but I'm curious if it'll physically bolt up? jeremy Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 I would assume that it all depends on the mounting brackets that he uses, I would never do it but it should be able to be done.... Quote
Brian P Posted May 6, 2004 Author Report Posted May 6, 2004 I'd think so too... well the kid never emailed me to ask if it'll fit, and I specified it's a 1.5-din radio, so I'm not planning on losing this sale to someone's error. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2475503381 Quote
DiscoStudd Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 I can tell you that the 95 Regal's opening isn't quite Double-DIN. It's only about 3/8" taller than the normal 1 1/2 DIN GM size. It looks like the bracket you have mounted on the left side is similar to the Regal's. I'm sure one of the others would work fine on the right side. If it were me, I'd center the radio in the opening (maybe try to get the factory stabilizer lug in the back to line up,) bolt it up there, and make a filler plate to go in front of the one that's on the radio now to hide any gaps. It doesn't seem too far of a stretch, as long as the guy knows what he's doing... Quote
godofthunder Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 if ya specified it, and its in the auction, theres nothing he can do unless your willing. Quote
Brian P Posted May 6, 2004 Author Report Posted May 6, 2004 I'm not willing to refund. I'm willing to help the kid though. He hasn't emailed me back so I'll wait for that. Thanks for the help, Y'all 8) Quote
LukeZ34 Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 Tell him to go buy a roll of duct tape (or gaffers tape if he's feeling adventerous) and fix it that way. I just sold my old Pioneer to a guy with a 92 Cutlass. Quote
