skiiirt Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 I was wondering about this EGR Valve setting. I want to buy the chip but I am considering turning off the EGR valve. What are the effects? Right now my EGR valve apparently isnt working properly (as per SES code) so wouldnt it just be smarter (save $400) to turn it off rather then getting it fixed? Quote
Robby1870 Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 well, yes, but if your state has emission testing you wont pass. The only effects are that your intakes will be much cleaner Quote

skiiirt Posted May 3, 2004 Author Report Posted May 3, 2004 Aha! I live in Canada. We aint got SHIT. Thanks. Instead of paying 6 bills for a new EGR Valve I think I'll go with the performance chip and just disable it. 8) Quote
slick Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 Make a block off plate too and save room in your engine bay. Quote
skiiirt Posted May 3, 2004 Author Report Posted May 3, 2004 and how would one go about doing this? Quote
slick Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 Making a block off plate? Just get the outline of the bottom of the EGR valve, and cut that out of metal. Then, drill your holes where it is bolted onto the engine, and put in on the engine instead of the egr valve(you'll need a gasket of course). Quote
