DOHCRagtopguy Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 Well, I threw a charge into the battery and fired up her Euro Sedan (LQ-1). The alternator is charging 13.8-14 volts while running. Holds steady. I ran it for 10 minutes with no voltage loss. But there is a loud whine that comes and goes by the PS pump and the rack groans real loud on RH turns. I'm wondering if the PS pump pulley bearing is going bad and putting a drag on the belt causing voltage drop. It wasn't whining the last time I just ran it. I'm charging the battery overnight and will diagnose further this weekend. Any ideas, feel free to express them. Quote
mihela816 Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 Sounds like it's time to get the PS flushed. Quote
