grandprix104 Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 ok the Prix decide it didnt think the new alt i just put in it was enough attention so it sprung a coolant leak. It isnt too terribly fast, leaves no puddles but there is no water in the oil either so i dont know what the hell its doing. There is no trace of water leakage anywhere. Just wondering if you guys had seen anything like this and if you know of any common leak areas, thanks! Quote
mihela816 Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 Freeze plugs, water pump seals, and external head gasket leaks, hose clamps Quote
DOHCRagtopguy Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 Intake manifold seals have been known to go on the 3.1 motors. Quote
mihela816 Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 And yours is a 94, and they had the manifold problem more often since it was the 3100's first year. Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Is it running hot? Closed t-stat and it will overflow while you're driving and you might not notice it. Happened to our van for a while. Quote
gp90se Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 radiator cap, they can get hot and the gasket can leak antifreeze outta the rad. -Jeff Quote
mihela816 Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 if it leaks out of any of those places there will be white crud around the leak. Quote
grandprix104 Posted May 1, 2004 Author Report Posted May 1, 2004 ok well thats some more things to check around. As for the t-stat and rad cap they are both brand new. Quote
